Feria de Valladolid (Valladolid Trade Fair Centre) is all set to hold the second edition of FINE, the International Wine Tourism Fair next June. The event stands as a business forum for professionals that will be joined by wineries, wine tourism territories and tour operators specialised in the segment. More than 60 buyers from 13 countries have already confirmed their participation.
During June 9 and 10 FINE will welcome tour operators operating in countries such as United Kingdom, Portugal, United States, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Australia and Ukraine. Alberto Alonso, General Manager, Feria de Valladolid explained that FINE intends to be a reference for wine tourism professionals and to contribute to the positioning of Spain as a destination for this type of trips and experiences.
He mentioned that after the good results of the first edition authorities have reinforced the commitment towards international markets. He shared that they have received really good response from tour operators and agencies and it is even more relevant in the moment of uncertainty due to the pandemic. The search for unique, original, charming experiences is one of the objectives of these agencies that also demand gastronomic activities, outdoor tourism, tailor-made trips, and family wineries among others.
The fair’s content program includes a cycle of conferences and analysis tables in which experts will be involved in tourist markets, product development or big data application. Juan Luis Nicolau, University of Virginia Tech; the president of the Italian Association for Wine Tourism, Roberta Garibaldi; Cathy Huyghe, CEO of US company Enolytics; César Saldaña, of the Wine and Brandy of Jerez Route, and Kathy Magner, of the Californian winery Robert Mondavi, will talk in Valladolid about present and future of wine tourism.
