The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority has decided to launch a new series of virtual global roadshows for the travel trade in readiness for the easing of travel restrictions later this year. Aimed at travel agents and reservation staff in the main source markets – the US, the UK and Canada – the three events come as vaccination programmes are underway and holidaymakers are looking ahead to when they can travel abroad again.
The global roadshows will be different from webinars as they go a step further in recreating a family trip experience online. Participants will get a close-up perspective of Saint Lucia’s hotels, activities and landscape to show what makes it a compelling destination for visitors. Hosted live by the sales team in Saint Lucia, market representatives will be present on hand to answer questions and provide specific information. The roadshows are a fun and interactive way to update and inform agents who sell holidays in the Caribbean.
Patricia Charlery-Leon, Director, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority UK & Europe, said in a statement that travel agents are vital to the success of Saint Lucia as a thriving tourism destination. She mentioned that while the destination could not host family trips due to COVID-19 restrictions, it has enjoyed keeping in touch with valued trade partners in other ways. She shared that the roadshows will offer agents the opportunity to visit hotels and sites from the comfort of their own homes giving them the confidence to inspire their clients to book Saint Lucia.
